Ingredients

4 pounds golden delicious apples peeled, cored and sliced (can use any apples good for baking)

3/4 cup sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 stick butter

1 cup light brown sugar

1 package refrigerated pie crust (make sure it has top and bottom)

1 egg white

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Toss sliced apples in the sugar and cinnamon

  3. Melt butter in the cast iron skillet and add brown sugar. Heat until sugar is dissolved

  4. Remove from heat and place one pie crust in the pan

  5. Add apple mixture and place the other crust on top

  6. Whisk egg white and brush over the top of the pie then cut some slits in the top
